In the 17th match of Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, Delhi Capitals (DC) Women and Gujarat Giants (GG) Women are locking horns at BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Tuesday, January 27. The clash holds importance for both teams as they eye a place in the playoffs.
The encounter is the penultimate clash for both sides in WPL 2026. DC Women captain Jemmimah Rodrigues won the toss and opted to bowl first in the encounter. At the toss, she also revealed that they have made no changes to their playing XI from the last game.
However, GG Women made two changes to their playing XI. Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Happy Kumari were left out, and were replaced by Georgia Wareham and Tanuja Kanwer.
Why did Danni Wyatt-Hodge miss DC vs GG clash in WPL 2026?
At the toss, GG Women captain Ashleigh Gardner revealed why Danni was ruled out of the match due to sickness and added that Sophie Devine will take the opening slot.
“We were batting first anyway, so it didn’t really matter. Having Sophie in the middle-order gives us a lot of firepower – a forced change tonight, Danni Wyatt is out with sickness, Georgia Wareham comes back and Sophie will go back to the top of the order. We just need to get the process right and the rest will take care of itself,” Gardner said.
Meanwhile, Wyatt has only played one game in WPL 2026- a clash against UP Warriorz where she got out for 14 runs.
