Karachi Kings (KAR) and Multan Sultans (MUL) are clashing in the 28th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026. The KAR vs MUL game is taking place on Sunday, April 19, at the National Stadium in Karachi.
Multan Sultans take the third spot in the points table and are among the favourities to reach the playoffs. Karachi will need to win their upcoming games to be able to qualify for the next round. They currently take the seventh spot in the points table with six points.
In the KAR vs MUL clash of PSL 2026, Karachi won the toss and opted to bowl first. Notably, their captain David Warner yet again was not part of the clash, having missed the previous two matches. Moeen Ali is captaining the side in his absence.
Why is David Warner not playing KAR vs MUL clash of PSL 2026?
Notably, Warner is suffering from a back strain. Ali informed that the toss that Warner has not completely recovered from his back issue.
“We are gonna bowl first, let’s see how we go. Warner hasn’t fully recovered from his back strain so he is missing out today. We have struggled in all aspects of the game but we also did well in our first two games, just reminding everyone that we have match-winners in our side,” Ali said at the toss.
Warner has played four games so far in PSL 2026, scoring one half-century. He got out for 35, 8, and 0 in the other three games. Under his captaincy, Karachi Kings won three games in a row at the start. Out of six games, they have won three matches and lost three.
Two weeks ago, Warner was caught in a big controversy. He went on a short break to Australia to spend time with his family. In Sydney, Warner was arrested by the police for a drunk-driving incident. A case has also been registered against him in the matter. He will also need to appear in the court next month.
