Mumbai Indians (MI) are locking horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in match 20 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The match got underway at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, April 12.
Mumbai have lost their previous two games and are aiming for a comeback against RCB. They have won just one game out of three so far. RCB have won two matches and lost one out of three.
Against RCB, MI had a good luck at the start as Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first. Deepak Chahar and Will Jacks were not part of MI’s playing XI in the match, which raised the eyebrows of many.

MI made two changes to their playing XI for the clash. Deepak Chahar and Allah Ghazanfar were dropped and were replaced by Mitchell Santner and Mayank Markande.
Jacks is yet to join the MI squad in IPL 2026. He asked for an extended break ahead of joining MI squad in IPL 2026 to spend time with his family. He had a busy international campaign since the start of this year, which also included T20 World Cup 2026 in India. Jacks is expected to join the squad later this month.
Speaking about the changes in the playing XI at the toss, Pandya said, “Being our home ground, dew comes in later as well. So it’s good to know what you’re chasing, you can plan your innings accordingly. Mayank Markande and Mitchell Santner come in for Chahar and Ghazanfar.”
Meanwhile, RCB made just one change to their playing XI. Josh Hazlewood was replaced by Jacob Duffy. After missing the first two games, Hazlewood featured in the previous game against RR, where he picked up two wickets.
