Dinesh Chandimal batted for Sri Lanka in first innings of SL vs IND Test in Galle.

The Sri Lanka vs India first Test at the Galle International Stadium has reached its final showdown with the home side chasing a massive target set by the Indian batters.

The Indian batters did a fairly remarkable job in the first innings, where they scored a massive 462 runs on the back of Devdutt Padikkal‘s maiden Test hundred. Taking a massive 178 run lead in the first innings, India managed to tighten the screws in the second innings despite a batting collapse leading to the team being bowled out for just 193 runs.

Chasing the mammoth target, the Sri Lankan top-order struggled early managing to end Day 4 on 84/4 with a mountain of runs to climb. Captain Dhananjaya de Silva and centurion from first innings Sonal Dinusha added stability to the Lankan innings after the fall of early wickets, before reaching their respective half-centuries on Day 5.
