Hyderabad Kingsmen are a new team in the Pakistan Super League 2026. The franchise has been added to the PSL 2026 alongside Rawalpindi Pindiz, which makes it an 8-team league. Hyderabad have appointed Marnus Labuschagne as their captain.
However, they have witnessed a poor start in the tournament, losing both their matches. In their opening game, they lost to Lahore Qalandars by 69 runs, failing to chase down a 200-run target. They were bowled out for just 130 runs in the second innings.
In their second match against Quetta Gladiators, Hyderabad failed to chase down 175 and were bowled out to 134/8 to lose by 40 runs. Hence, they have suffered setbacks early in the tournament and are under a lot of pressure to win a match.
Amid Hyderabad’s batting struggles, they are definitely missing Glenn Maxwell’s services. The Kingsmen picked the star Australian all-rounder as a direct signing. However, he was absent from the opening two games.

Notably, Glenn Maxwell has not joined Hyderabad’s squad so far. He is expected to join the tournament in the second leg. He took this decision due to ongoing security concerns in Pakistan.
Pakistan are currently in a war with Afghanistan along their western border. Moreover, the Iran-US-Israel war has also made a significant impact in Pakistan, as they are a neighbouring country of Iran.
Due to the West Asia conflict, PSL 2026 is being played in only two venues- Lahore and Karachi. Additionally, the matches are being played behind closed doors.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad are currently in the last spot in the PSL 2026 points table with 0 points. They are clashing with Multan Sultans in their third game on Wednesday, April 1.
