The fourth T20I between India and England is taking place at the County Ground in Bristol on Thursday, July 9. England lead the series 2-0 after three games, having won the previous two encounters with ease. The opening game was abandoned due to rain.
Therefore, the ENG vs IND 4th T20I is a do-or-die game for the Indian Cricket Team, as they need to win at any cost to avoid a series defeat. Shreyas Iyer & Co. have already faced several criticisms following a poor start against England and a recent series defeat against Ireland.
The Men in Blue will leave no stone unturned to snatch a victory in tonight’s clash; however, they would face strict resistance from England. The latter have utilised their home conditions effectively and outplayed India in both batting and bowling departments across both matches.
Meanwhile, Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first in the ENG vs IND 4th T20I. Notably, India have made two changes in their playing XI. Pacer Harshit Rana and spinner Varun Chakravarthy are not part of the encounter. Both of them played in the previous game at Trent Bridge.

At the toss, Iyer revealed that Varun and Harshit are injured and, therefore, are not playing the match. While Prasidh Krishna replaced Rana, Washington Sundar was picked over Varun. The rest of the playing XI remains the same.
Speaking at the toss, Shreyas Iyer said, “It looks good. It has got a decent amount of grass over the wicket. So, definitely we’ll have a look how it plays from the first ball. We’ve got two changes, two injuries actually. Varun and Harshit goes out, so Washington and Prasidh comes in”.
About opting to bat first, he added, “We’re going to bat first. (must-win game now..) Certainly, and we are going to play like that. We saw the fearlessness which we’ve been carrying for the first two games. It’s just that we are not able to execute the plans as much as possible, but today, it’s a fresh day, fresh start, and the boys are in pretty high spirits”.
