The Indian Cricket Team are taking on West Indies in the first T20I at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, on Tuesday. These two produced unreal batting performances during the three-match ODI series, which produced over 2100 runs.
Though the series ended in favour of the hosts by a margin of 2-1, India recorded their highest run chase of 406 runs, and West Indies recorded their highest chase of 352.
After a high-scoring ODI series, the expectations from the T20I series are also very high. Both teams have strong batting lineups. The toss has taken place, and the lineups for the two teams are out.
India are without their ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah. That will leave the current Indian bowling unit with the required experience. India will be looking to get off to a winning start to the T20I series.

Jasprit Bumrah was part of the final of the Asian Games 2026 against Pakistan on Saturday. He bowled an economical spell of 0/33 when Pakistan were chasing 212 to win. He took 2/7 in the semifinal against Sri Lanka.
But Bumrah is not part of the first T20I in Lucknow. In fact, he is not part of the squad for the ongoing T20I series against West Indies. The Indian management has given him the rest to manage his workload.
India are all set to tour New Zealand for a multi-format series, starting October 22 (Thursday). Bumrah will have a key role in that tour, as India will be playing five T20Is, two Tests, and five ODIs.
India want to manage him smartly, as the 2027 ODI World Cup is not far away. Hence, every game and every series for Bumrah will be planned properly. Meanwhile, both teams will be aiming to get off to a winning start and get the momentum for the rest of the series.
