Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are clashing in the 17th match of the Indian Premier League 2026. The encounter got underway on April 11 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.
PBKS won the toss and opted to field first in the match. They have not made any changes to their playing XI. On the other hand, SRH made two changes to their side.
Jaydev Unadkat and Liam Livingstone were not part of the encounter. Livingstone was part of the previous game against LSG, where he got out for just 14 runs. Unadkat was picked in all three previous games of SRH in IPL 2026, where he picked 4 wickets.
Why are Unadkat and Livingstone not playing vs PBKS?
Both Livingstone and Unadkat have been dropped for the match. The reason for this could be their poor performance in the last match. Salil Arora replaced Livingstone in the playing XI, while Praful Hinge has replaced Unadkat. Hinge has also made his IPL debut in the clash.
Speaking at the toss, Ishan Kishan said, “Hopefully, we’ll just try and execute the plans, which is the most important thing in T20 cricket. Yeah, there are two changes. Salil comes in in place of Livingstone and Praful Hinge, it’s his debut game, in place of Jaydev Unadkat.”
Backing his decision to bowl first, Iyer said at the toss, “We’re going to bowl first. It’s a day game and obviously want to get a knack of how the wicket is going to play and a fair idea. But other than that, that’s what we’ve been doing in the last couple of games. We’ve been thriving on that”.
