For West Indies, Justin Greaves was the standout batter. The opener scored his maiden ODI century and played a big role in helping his team reach 295. However, he could not take part in the second innings after picking up an injury while batting.

Justin Greaves has been ruled out of the second ODI against India because of a calf injury. The West Indies batter picked up the injury during his century in the first ODI. He was seen struggling while running between the wickets.
After completing his century, Greaves was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav and did not take the field during India’s chase. The injury has now forced him to miss the second match in Guwahati. He could also remain doubtful for the third and final ODI in New Chandigarh on October 3.
His 101 came at a difficult time as the visitors were trying to build a strong total against India. Along with Campbell, he helped the West Indies make a solid start before India fought back with the ball.
Greaves has also been an important player for West Indies in ODI cricket. Since the start of 2025, he has scored 528 runs in 19 ODI innings and has also taken seven wickets.
