Kuldeep Yadav played first two T20Is of IND vs WI series.
The first two games of the ongoing five-match T20I series between India and West Indies produced two one-sided matches. India recorded an easy chase in the first game with captain Shreyas Iyer scoring a century.
West Indies bounced back in grand fashion and went on to chase the second-highest target in T20I history of 252 runs. Captain Shai Hope recorded his third century in the last four innings on this tour. They hammered every Indian bowler, and it was a smart chase, despite losing the first two wickets in the second over.
That has helped West Indies to level the series at 1-1. The third T20I started on Sunday at Holkar Stadium in Indore. For the second time in a row, West Indies won the toss and put India to bat first.
India made changes to their squad going into the third game. But the biggest surprise was the exclusion of Kuldeep Yadav from the playing XI as India added Prince Yadav in the place of him.

Kuldeep Yadav is India’s premier spinner in the white-ball format, and he is the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing tour. He finished with the most wickets (7) in the three-match ODI series and took three wickets in the first two T20Is.
Despite that, Kuldeep wasn’t picked in the team. India went in with an extra seating option. However, the key reason that India didn’t go with Kuldeep is because of the playing conditions in Indore. The wicket is pretty flat, and the boundaries are short.
The dew is another reason that India didn’t go with Kuldeep. India struggled with the ball in the last game, and spinners were finding it difficult to hold the ball. That is where the dew can make it tough for the wrist spinner.
Hence, India decided to add one extra pacer on the side. In the last game, Kuldeep was bowling fast and was trying to skid the ball, rather than going for a turn. It was because of the wet ball under dew.
