Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are locking horns in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Sunday, April 26. The LSG vs KKR match is being played at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Both teams have showcased a humiliating performance in IPL 2026 so far. While LSG take the ninth spot in the points table, KKR are reeling at the last spot.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to field first in the encounter. Mayank Yadav missed out for LSG, and this came as a massive surprise. He featured in the previous game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 22. Moreover, George Linde has replaced M Siddharth in the playing XI.
Why is Mayank Yadav not playing LSG vs KKR clash of IPL 2026?
Notably, Mayank Yadav has been dropped for the encounter. While Pant did not reveal any reason for Yadav’s absence from the current match at the toss, it might be due to his poor show in the last game. The right-arm pacer has only played one game in IPL 2026 so far.
The right-arm pacer was too costly in the clash against RR and conceded 56 runs in his four-over spell. Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav, and Mohsin Khan are the frontline pacers for Lucknow in tonight’s game.
Speaking at the toss, Pant said, “We’re gonna bowl first, we want to again put the opposition in the back first and just find the answer as a batting group. Just one change, Linde comes in for Siddharth”.
“Definitely we are working towards it, when there are lots of leaders in the family, you have to find a way and we are pretty close to finding ways and we gotta just stick together, stay tight, because we know that we can turn around the season from here and I’m pretty confident to make it happen. See definitely any kind of confidence is definitely needed and we’ll take that one too,” he added.
