The MI vs RCB clash of IPL 2026 is underway at Wankhede Stadium.
Mumbai Indians (MI) are locking horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Sunday, April 12. The encounter is taking place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Both teams lost their previous game and aim to make a comeback in the ongoing clash. Veteran players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will play against each other and will be in the headlines.
MI won the toss and opted to field first in the match. Notably, MI and RCB players were seen wearing black armbands on their shoulders. Fans were confused about the reason for the same.
Why are MI and RCB players wearing black armbands?

Both teams are wearing black armbands to mourn the passing away of legendary singer Asha Bhosle. With the armbands, they are paying tributes to the singer, who passed away in Mumbai today.
She was suffering from health issues and was admitted to a Mumbai hospital, where she took her last breath on Sunday at the age of 92. Players of both teams also maintained a minute of silence at the start of the match as a mark of respect.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians have suffered two defeats in a row in IPL 2026 and will leave no stone unturned to outplay the RCB. They made a brilliant start by winning their opening game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). However, they failed to maintain the winning momentum in the next matches.
They will look for a better bowling show, as their bowlers were hit for a lot of runs in the previous game. Their middle-order batters have also struggled to perform consistently.
On the other hand, RCB have won two out of three matches and lost one. In their previous game, they witnessed their first defeat of the tournament against the Rajasthan Royals.
RCB have a lethal batting unit with the likes of Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, and Tim David. However, their bowlers have been expensive against opponents.
