Rajasthan Royals (RR) are currently locking horns with Gujarat Titans (GT) in match 52 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The match is of utmost importance for both teams as the playoff race has entered a crucial stage of the tournament.

Both sides came into the contest with six wins from 10 matches. While RR are placed fourth in the points table with 12 points and +0.510 net run rate, GT are just behind them in fifth place with 12 points and -0.147 net run rate. A win in Jaipur could help either side strengthen their playoff hopes.

RR had mixed form before this clash. They lost three of their previous five matches despite scoring heavily with the bat. GT, meanwhile, arrive with strong momentum after winning their last three matches in a row. Rajasthan also made a leadership change for this game as Yashasvi Jaiswal led the side instead of Riyan Parag, who missed the clash due to injury.

Rajasthan Royals pacer Nandre Burger missed the playing XI against Gujarat Titans. Captain Yashasvi Jaiswal did not reveal the reason behind his absence at the toss, however, team combination and his poor form seems to be the biggest reason.

Since RR decided to bowl first, Burger was also not included in the impact player list before the start of the game. This created more questions among fans, especially because the left-arm pacer has been a regular part of the team this season.

Burger has struggled with consistency in IPL 2026. He has picked up nine wickets in 10 matches but has leaked runs at an economy of 10.34. His average this season stands at 37.33, while his best bowling figures are 2/21.

The Royals bowling attack has looked weak in recent matches. They failed to defend 220-plus totals in their last two defeats.

Both Burger and Jofra Archer have conceded heavily during the powerplay and death overs. Rajasthan will be hoping for a better bowling performance against Gujarat Titans in this important clash. Burger’s absence also forced the team management to rethink their bowling combinations for the Jaipur game. They have included Yash Raj Punja in the team for the match.

At the toss, Jaiswal did not explain the reason for Burger missing the fixture. The franchise is also yet to release an official update on the South African pacer.
