Asia Cup 2025: Why is Litton Das not captaining Bangladesh against India in Super Four encounter? Revealed

Indian Cricket Team and Bangladesh Cricket Team are squaring off with each other in their second match of Super Four round in Asia Cup 2025 on Wednesday, September 24. The venue of the clash is Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
Both teams won their opening games of the Super Four round, inching one step closer to the final. While, Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets in their last match, while India crushed Pakistan by six wickets in their last match.
The ongoing game will be important for both the teams. But even before the clash, Bangladesh faced a blow. They are short of their skipper Litton Das in the encounter against India.
In his absence, Jaker Ali is leading the side and had a fantastic start to the game, winning the won the toss and opting to bowl first. At the toss, he also revealed why Das is not part of the game.

Ali informed that Litton Das sustained an injury during practice sessions and had to miss the crucial clash against India. He also added that Bangladesh have made four changes to their playing XI.
“We would like to bowl first. He (Litton Das) got injured during a practice session and unfortunately misses out on this crucial game. I am excited and looking forward to this game,” he said.
“We are doing really well as a team and we will try to give our best. We will try to restrict them and chase it down. Surface looks pretty good to bat. We have got four changes,” he added.
Bangladesh playing XI: Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Parvez Hossain Emon, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Jaker Ali(C/wk), Mohammad Saifuddin, Rishad Hossain, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman.
India playing XI: Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav (C), Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy.
Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav revealed that they are playing the same playing XI in the encounter. The Men in Blue have been unbeaten in Asia Cup 2025 so far, winning four games in a row.
