Why Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik and Ravindra Jadeja won't participate in Duleep Trophy 2024-25?

Mohammed Siraj has been replaced by Navdeep Saini in the India B squad and Gaurav Yadav has replaced Umran Malik in the India C squad.
Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik and Ravindra Jadeja won’t feature in the first round of the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2024-25 tournament.
The Duleep Trophy will kick off on September 5, with matches being played simultaneously in Anantapur and Bengaluru. The tournament will involve four teams: India A, India B, India C, and India D.
Several Team India stars have been named in the squads for the first round of the tournament, which will precede the test series against Bangladesh.
BCCI names replacements for Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik
On Tuesday, the BCCI confirmed that Siraj and Malik will miss the first round of the Duleep Trophy due to illness. Jadeja will also miss the competition, but the board didn’t mention a reason for the all-rounder’s unavailability.
“Both Siraj and Malik are suffering from an illness and are not expected to be fit in time for their Duleep Trophy fixtures,” the BCCI said in a released statement.
Navdeep Saini will replace Siraj in the India B squad, while 32-year-old Gaurav Yadav from Madhya Pradesh replaces Malik in the India C squad. There is no replacement for Jadeja announced yet.
Further, Andhra all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy’s participation is subject to fitness as he recovers after a sports hernia surgery.
