The Indian squad for Asia Cup 2025 will be announced soon. According to a report in The Times of India, the chairman of selectors, Ajit Agarkar, will hold a press conference in Mumbai to announce the team.
Asia Cup 2025 will begin on September 9th, and the Indian Cricket Team will open their campaign in the tournament on September 10th against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The final of the event is scheduled to take place on 28th September at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
The Indian squad for Asia Cup 2025 has been in the news for a while. There are chances that some of the big names might get dropped as the team management reportedly is not keen to disturb the core which has been there after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Yashasvi Jaiswal asked to focus on test cricket

One of the big names that are all set to be dropped from the team for Asia Cup 2025 is Yashasvi Jaiswal. The report in The Times of India has claimed that the batter won’t be picked as he has been told by the selectors to focus on the longest format.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been one of the finest talents going around in the country. Despite proving his prowess in the T20Is, he has been asked to focus most on the tests, a format in which he has excelled both at home and overseas.
Jaiswal has done incredibly well with the bat in T20Is, slamming 723 runs at a strike rate of around 165. Not only this, he has also hammered one century and five fifties in his career so far. Also in the Indian Premier League (IPL), he has been sensational for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and has been amongst the leading run-getters in the last few seasons.
