Phil Salt was also absent from RCB’s previous game against LSG in IPL 2026.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are locking horns with Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 54th match of the Indian Premier League 2026. The encounter is taking place at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on May 10.

Rajat Patidar & Co. take the fourth spot in the points table, with six wins and four defeats in 10 encounters. After losing their last two clashes, they are aiming for a comeback against the Mumbai Indians. The victory will inch them closer to the playoffs.

On the other hand, Mumbai have suffered a horrible form in IPL 2026, winning just three out of 10 games so far. They languish in the ninth spot in the points table. One more defeat could end MI’s hopes of reaching the playoffs.

In the 54th match of IPL 2026, RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to field first. Opener Phil Salt is once again absent from RCB‘s playing XI. He last played in the clash against the Delhi Capitals on April 18.

After successfully recovering from his injury, he has returned to India and joined the RCB squad. However, he is missing tonight’s clash and is expected to feature in the next game.

Salt also missed the previous game against the LSG, which RCB lost. Earlier, he provided quickfire starts in a few games and also scored a half-century in his last appearance. His England teammate Jacob Bethell has been retained as an opener once again in tonight’s game against MI.

Meanwhile, Salt has played in six encounters in IPL 2026. He has scored two half-centuries. With 202 runs in six games at a strike rate of 168.33, he has done a decent job for RCB.
