LSG's overseas star Quinton de Kock is still warming the bench for the team.

Lucknow Super Giants have kept their captain KL Rahul and opener Kyle Mayers combination intact against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Due to Quintin De Kock’s absence from the initial games, Lucknow tried Kyle Mayers at the top with Captain Rahul. Mayers with his fiery approach has made himself an obvious choice over Quinton De Kock since then, Quinton De Kock joined Lucknow’s squad before their third game at Hyderabad against Sunrisers Hyderabad. QDK has been waiting on the bench since then. Captain KL Rahul has now revealed that QDK will have to wait longer for a game this season.

Lucknow preferring Quinton De Kock over Kyle Mayers

Playing against Rajasthan Royal, Captain KL Rahul has talked about Lucknow Super Giants' biggest puzzle in the opening. At the toss, he said, “We are quite settled, we will try to keep the left hand and right hand combination going. Quinny still misses out, He will just have to wait for some more time. I enjoyed opening with Quinton”. Kyle Mayers has done well in the IPL 2023. Mayers has batted with a blistering strike rate of 168 in 5 innings. In the IPL 2022, QDK scored 508 runs in 14 games for Lucknow. He also scored a century in the previous season.

Rajasthan Royals have won the toss against Lucknow and have been elected to Bowl. This is the homecoming game for Rajasthan Royals after 4 years. Previously they had their two home games at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.

On the other hand, Lucknow will also look to equal Rajasthan’s number in the points table. Lucknow is currently placed in Second position.
