Why are Ravi Bishnoi & Prasidh Krishna not playing ENG vs IND 3rd T20I in Nottingham?

Ravi Bishnoi was part of the previous game, while Pradish Krishna did not play.

The third T20I between India and England got underway on July 7, Tuesday, at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. The Men in Blue aim for a big comeback after losing the previous encounter by four wickets, in which they failed to defend a 190-run total.

After becoming the T20I captain last month, Shreyas Iyer is still trying to win his first match. Moreover, to keep hopes of winning the series alive, he will have to steer the team to victory in tonight’s match. If the visitors lose the Trent Bridge clash, they won’t be able to win the five-match series.

In the ENG vs IND 3rd T20I, Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first. At the toss, he informed that India have made just one change to the playing XI.

Spinner Ravi Bishnoi and pacer Prasidh Krishna are not part of the encounter. While Bishnoi played in the last game, Krishna was absent from both previous matches.

Why did Ravi Bishnoi and Prasidh Krishna miss the 3rd T20I?

Notably, pacer Prince Yadav has been included in the playing XI in place of Ravi Bishnoi. The right-arm spinner remained too expensive in the last game, leaking 60 runs off his four overs and going wicketless.

Hence, India have added an extra pacer to the side. Krishna has been overlooked once again, and Prince has been preferred as a pacer. On the other hand, England have made no changes to their side.

Speaking at the toss, Indian skipper Shreyas Iyer said, “We’re going to bowl first. [On the narrow defeat in the previous game and backing the bowlers] Yes, I think that was just a hiccup which you can’t control, and you definitely have to back your bowler. He’s thinking a bit too much, but I know everyone goes through that patch. But boys are in high spirits anyway. I had a chat with him”.

Revealing the changes in the playing XI, he added “So, a great learning for him as well and also for the team. Certainly, by the looks of it, I feel it’s a beautiful wicket. And definitely, one side is short, so we want to maximize the use of it and see how they bat. We’ve got one change. Prince Yadav comes in for Bishy (Bishnoi)”.

India’s Playing XI: Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan (WK), Shreyas Iyer (C), Shivam Dube, Tilak Varma, Axar Patel, Harshit Rana, Prince Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy.

England Playing XI: Philip Salt, Jos Buttler (WK), Harry Brook (C), Jacob Bethell, Tom Banton, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Liam Dawson, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Josh Tongue.

The right-arm spinner remained too expensive in the last game. Hence, Prince Yadav replaced him in the playing XI.

Why is Prasidh Krishna not part of the ENG vs IND 3rd T20I?

Krishna has been overlooked from the playing XI once again. He did not play in the last two matches.
