Ravindra Jadeja picked up two wickets in the first two ODIs.

India are taking on the West Indies in the third and final ODI of the series in Mullanpur on Saturday. The hosts have already won the first two matches and will now look to complete a series whitewash.

The first two games were heavily dominated by the batters, with both matches producing high totals. India chased targets of 296 and 406 in the opening two games, with Shubman Gill and the top order playing important roles.

The third ODI has brought a few changes to India’s playing XI. Mohammed Siraj has finally been included, while Anshul Kamboj is making his ODI debut after being added to the squad as Prasidh Krishna’s replacement.

One of the main players missing from the XI is Ravindra Jadeja, who has been left out for the final match of the series.

Ravindra Jadeja has been left out of India’s playing XI for the third ODI against West Indies. There is no official reason for his omission, but his recent ODI form and his role in the team could be the reasons behind the decision.

Jadeja played in both matches against West Indies and picked up two wickets. He had taken only three wickets in his previous eight ODI matches before the third game against West Indies.

His bowling numbers have also varied depending on the conditions. Since the 2023 World Cup, he has taken 14 wickets in 15 ODI innings as a left-arm orthodox spinner, while Axar has taken 21 wickets in 19 innings.

Jadeja remains an experienced option for India, having played 212 ODIs. Spin bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule has called him a utility player and said that he has improved as a bowler.

Jadeja’s batting also remains an important part of his value. Since the 2023 World Cup, he has scored 149 runs in 10 ODI innings, including the winning hit in the 2025 Champions Trophy final.

His absence from the third ODI does not mean India have made a final decision on him. The team is still looking at Jadeja and other options for the 2027 World Cup.
