Sanju Samson also missed the 3rd T20I.

India are taking on England in the fourth T20I on Thursday, July 9. The encounter between the two teams is underway at County Ground, Bristol. This is a crucial match for India to avoid a series defeat as they trail 2-0 after three games.

England have dominated India in both batting and bowling departments in the last two games. They chased down a 191-run target in the second T20I with four wickets to spare and defended a 201-run total in the previous game, bowling out India for just 76 runs.

In the ENG vs IND 4th T20I, India won the toss and opted to bat first. It was revealed during the toss that Sanju Samson is once again not part of the playing XI. The right-handed batsman played in the opening game but missed the previous two clashes against England.

Sanju Samson has been overlooked for the 4th T20I between England and India. The visitors have retained Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma as openers in tonight’s clash.

After Samson scored just 1 run off seven deliveries in the first washed-out game, India replaced him with Vaibhav in the second game.

India made just two changes in the playing XI in the 4th T20I. Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy missed the game due to injuries and were replaced by Washington Sundar and Prasidh Krishna.

Speaking at the toss, Indian skipper Shreyas Iyer said, “We’re going to bat first. Certainly, and we are going to play like that. We saw the fearlessness which we’ve been carrying for the first two games. It’s just that we are not able to execute the plans as much as possible, but today, it’s a fresh day, fresh start, and the boys are in pretty high spirits.

Revealing the playing XI, the Indian skipper added, “So, all these things, tactically, you’ve got to be up to your mark. And I think if these things are sorted, definitely you get the results. It looks good. It has got a decent amount of grass over the wicket. So, definitely we’ll have a look how it plays from the first ball. We’ve got two changes, two injuries actually. Varun and Arshdeep goes out, so Washington and Prasidh comes in.
