The Indian Cricket Team are clashing with England in the second T20I of the current five-match series. The game between two teams is underway at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester on Saturday, July 4. This comes as an important game for both teams as the first game got washed-out game at Riverside Ground.

So far, India have won 18 games out of 31, while England have bagged victories in 12 encounters. The current series is tied 0-0 at the moment, with both teams looking equally strong against each other.

India have an upper hand in head-to-head clashes. However, England are known for their supremacy at home and will leave no stone unturned to overpower the visitors. Hence, the second ENG vs IND T20I promises to be an exciting clash.

In the ENG vs IND 2nd T20I, India skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first. At the toss, he informed that Sanju Samson is not part of the playing XI, which came as surprise for many. The right-handed batsman played in the opening game and also the two T20Is against Ireland.

Why did Sanju Samson miss ENG vs IND 2nd T20I?

Samson has been dropped for 2nd T20I between England and India. India have handed debut to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. He became the youngest cricketer to play for India.

Speaking at the toss, Indian skipper Shreyas Iyer said, “Well, absolutely. You see the competition. It’s game after game like the amount of talent India produces over the last couple of months and years. I think it’s pleasing to the eye and also it keeps us especially on the toes as well throughout the series. Because pressure is a privilege, I feel. And if you perform under pressure, you reap the benefits as well”.

Revealing the playing XI, he added, “We are going to bat first again. (Team changes?) One change, Vaibhav (Sooryavanshi) comes in for Sanju (Samson). (An amazing story. He’s about to become India’s youngest debutant. Is he ready?) Absolutely. You’ve seen him in the last couple of months, the way he’s been smashing the ball, taking on the best of the bowlers, shows immense confidence that he possesses”.
