Pakistan opted to bowl in the PAK vs SL Tri-Series final.
The ongoing ODI Tri-Series in Pakistan is approaching its conclusion. Pakistan are taking on Sri Lanka in the final. The final is being played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday, October 31.
Shaheen Afridi won the toss and decided to bowl first. It has been an incredible tri-series until now. All three teams have performed at their best, creating numerous highly competitive moments.
Pakistan have won their first three games but failed to replicate that success in their last group match. They were bowled out for just 110 runs. Their batting suffered a poor collapse. In the match against England, too, their performance faltered just as badly.
They were 131/8 while chasing 242 runs. But Shadab Khan brought them home with a stunning century. He added a couple of partnerships, including an 89-run stand with Haris Rauf to take Pakistan over the line. But he missed the final due to poor health.

Shadab played a match-winning knock against England and scored an unbeaten 113 off 96 balls with 13 fours and five sixes, batting at no. 8. He is not part of the ongoing tri-series final in Lahore.
Faheem Ashraf replaced him in the playing XI. Pakistan captain Shaheen confirmed that Shadab was feeling unwell, so he didn’t make the playing XI. Notably, it is an important clash for both sides.
Both teams are in a transition phase and preparing for the 2027 ODI World Cup, which is less than a year away. Hence, winning a tri-series will boost their confidence and help them build momentum.
Sri Lanka lost their previous match, where they had to chase 387 runs against England. Though they batted well and reached 331, they fell short. Their bowling has been a little concerning, while Pakistan have struggled with the bat. So, both teams will look to address the issues and win the final.
