India and West Indies are playing the fourth T20I of the five-match series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday, October 14. With the series tied at 2-1, the ongoing clash is the virtual series-decider.
India won the first match, but West Indies bounced back in the second T20I in Ranchi. The visitors chased down a target of 250 runs to level the series and put pressure on India’s bowling attack.
Shai Hope scored an unbeaten 102 off 45 balls, while Sherfane Rutherford made 84 runs off just 37 balls. India then again made a comeback, and won the third T20I. They defended the target of 224 runs, winning the game by 14 runs.
For the fourth T20I, India went in with same XI. This meant that all-rounder Shivam Dube, who missed last match, continued warming the bench.

It is assumed that Shivam Dube has been dropped from India’s playing XI for the 4th T20I against West Indies. Nitish Kumar Reddy replaced him in the last game, and retained his place for the ongoing game.
Dube failed make a big impact with either bat or ball in the second T20I. There also has been no confirmation that Dube is injured. His absence seems to be a team selection decision after India’s defeat in Ranchi.
Dube will have to wait for another chance to play in the series. India would be keen to win the fourth game, and seal the series with one game to go.
West Indies, meanwhile, will look to defend the massive total of 247 runs which they posted in 4th T20I. Shao Hope was again hero for his team as he slammed second century of the series.
