The Indian Cricket Team have already claimed a series victory in the T20I series against Zimbabwe after dominating the first two games of the series. They won the first match by seven wickets, where Mayank Yadav bowled a brilliant spell and was awarded Player of the Match.
In the second game, they claimed a 90-run victory, with Ishan Kishan winning the Player of the Match award for his blistering knock of 81 runs. Currently, they are playing the third match of the series against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club, Harare.
India made two changes to their XI with Shivam Dube getting replaced by Suryansh Shedge. Fans are wondering why Dube, a two-time T20 World Cup winner and a key contributor to India’s T20 batting line-up, has been benched. Why did Shivam Dube miss 3rd ZIM vs IND T20I?
This match is a dead rubber, as the India have already won the series. This gives them a chance to play a few extra players to test their bench strength.
With the 2028 T20 World Cup still two years away, the India will be trying out the maximum number of players to figure out their best possible combination.
In this process, Dube was rested and made way for Suryansh Shedge. Shedge, who made his international debut a few weeks ago in Ireland and also played a match in England, has been given another opportunity in the series against Zimbabwe.
The hard-hitting batter is known for his finishing skills and can also bowl right-arm medium pace. He is seen as a perfect replacement for the likes of Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube. Shedge had a brilliant IPL 2026 season and will be looking to score some runs in international cricket as well.
