Shivam Dube has made three-half centuries for the Indian cricket team in T20Is till now.

The Indian cricket team whitewashed Bangladesh 2-0 in the two-match test series. Both nations will now face each other in a three-match T20I series, starting on October 6 in Gwalior. The second T20I will be played in New Delhi on October 9 and the third T20I in Hyderabad on October 12.

Suryakumar Yadav will continue to lead an inexperienced Indian side that is missing a few first-choice players, whereas Najmul Hasan Shanto will captain the Bangladesh cricket team during the three-match IND vs BAN T20I series.

Why will Shivam Dube not play in the T20I series against Bangladesh?

Ahead of the first T20I against Bangladesh, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that Shivam Dube has been ruled out of the three-match T20I series because of a back injury. Tilak Varma has been named as Dube’s replacement.

Dube made his T20I debut in 2019, but got a consistent run in the side since his return to the team last August. He became a first-choice member and was also part of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 winning side.

The 31-year-old Dube has played 33 T20Is and amassed 448 runs at an average of 29.86. The all-rounder has smashed three half-centuries till now in the shortest format.

India’s updated squad for the T20I series against Bangladesh:

Suryakumar Yadav (C), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wk), Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakaravarthy, JItesh Sharma (wk), Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Mayank Yadav, Tilak Varma
