Notably, the toss in the opening game was delayed due to rain. Even in the 5th T20I, the toss has been delayed; however, for a surprising reason.
Why will the toss be delayed?
Notably, the toss for ENG vs IND 5th T20I was scheduled for 6:30 PM IST. However, it has been delayed by 45 minutes because the Indian players got stuck in traffic while on their way to the stadium. The rescheduled toss time is 7:15 PM (IST), and the match will start at 7:30 PM.
As per reports by Cricbuzz, the Indian Cricket Team reached the stadium at 6:28 PM IST (2:58 PM Local time). Therefore, the toss was delayed by 45 minutes. After reaching the stadium, Indian skipper Shreyas Iyer and other players stepped out for practice.
Notably, Iyer has won all the tosses in the ongoing series. Moreover, he also won the toss in both games in the previous T20I series against Ireland. If he wins the toss tonight, he will equal MS Dhoni’s (7) record for most consecutive tosses won by an Indian captain in T20I cricket.
