Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are taking on each other in the 47th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Monday, May 4. The MI vs LSG clash is underway at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
With both teams struggling to get going in IPL 2026 so far, it is a very crucial game for them to keep their playoffs’ hopes alive. While MI can be officially eliminated from the playoffs if they lose, Lucknow’s chances would become very slim with a defeat.
In the MI vs LSG clash, Suryakumar Yadav is leading Mumbai as Hardik Pandya is not well. However, this was not only the change as MI captain also revealed that pacer Trent Boult is not part of the clash.
Why did Trent Boult miss MI’s clash against LSG in IPL 2026?

Notably, Boult has been dropped for the encounter and replaced by Corbin Bosch in the playing XI. Among other changes, Hardik Pandya is missing the games while Rohit Sharma is back after recovering from his hamstring injury.
Speaking about the playing XI, Surya said, “He’s (Hardik) not well tonight, so just going into his shoes. But yeah, the rest, everything is fine. There’s definitely, Corbin Bosch comes in for Trent Boult and also our very own Rohit Sharma is back”.
Meanwhile, Boult has featured in five games in IPL 2026 so far but has completely struggled to make a mark. He has clinched two wickets in five games at an average of 94.0 and an economy rate of 11.62. The Kiwi pacer remained wicketless in three games and got one wicket each in two.
