According to Cricbuzz, there is now renewed hope in relevant quarters that the bilateral series could take place following recent geopolitical developments, although several issues still need to be resolved.

BCB president Tamim Iqbal hopeful of hosting India in September
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Tamim Iqbal has confirmed that discussions with the BCCI are underway and said he remains hopeful that India will travel to Bangladesh for the scheduled series in September.
Tamim admitted that he does not currently have a definitive update regarding the tour but revealed that officials from the two boards have been communicating.
“Unfortunately, I don’t have any news regarding the India series. I am in discussions with the BCCI, and there’s an exchange of emails happening between BCB members,” Tamim told Cricbuzz.
Iqbal noted that an India-Bangladesh bilateral series is vital for both the fans and players from both nations. He reiterated that Bangladesh is safe for international cricket and that BCB is already taking measures to guarantee the proper functioning of the tour.
Nonetheless, Tamim agreed that there are certain aspects that lie beyond the jurisdiction of the cricket board. He explained that he will try to conduct negotiations with other parties while remaining within the limits of his authority.
On his conversations regarding the tour so far, Tamim said: “The discussions I’ve had so far have been very positive discussions.” He added that the other side also has to make a decision and indicated that clarity over the series is expected soon.
The BCB remains hopeful of hosting the three ODIs and three T20Is in September, while discussions with the BCCI are continuing. A definitive decision on whether the tour will proceed is still awaited.
As things stand, there are many conditions to be revealed which decide whether the tour takes place or not, among which the ongoing relations between India and Bangladesh are of importance. The report further pointed out that geopolitical incidents have brought in some hope for the series taking place.
