With the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia approaching, the BCCI in India is now preparing a clear roadmap. The board wants to review recent performance, fix key issues and build a stronger squad for the tournament.
A major meeting is scheduled at the BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai on Thursday, September 03. The meeting will target key members of Indian cricket, including head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and Centre of Excellence head VVS Laxman. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and Indian captains Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer will attend the meeting.
Players’ fitness and injury management will be among the major topics. The BCCI is also expected to discuss IPL workload and how to keep players fit ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup.

As of now, there is no official confirmation that the Board’s review meeting will be telecast live on Television or streamed online.
However reports suggested that the meeting is mainly about the recent performances, discussion around key players and issues that could be raised.
The main focus will be India’s recent performances, player fitness and the roadmap for the 2027 ODI World Cup and the WTC Final.
The Board is also expected to discuss the workload of players and how injuries can be reduced before important tournaments. Hardik Pandya’s fitness is another major concern, as the all-rounder is still working on his return.
Rohit Sharma’s future may also be discussed
Multiple reports have suggested that the future of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja in ODI cricket could be discussed with the 2027 ODI World Cup in mind.
Rohit’s future has already been a talking point after reports suggested that the selectors were considering moving on from him. However, his century against England has kept the discussion open.
