India are set to play their fourth game of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 against Bangladesh on June 25. The result of this match will determine India’s chances of reaching the semi-finals.

The Women in Blue are ranked second on the points table of Group A, with a +2.511 Net Run Rate. They have won two of their previous three clashes, against Pakistan and the Netherlands. However, they lost against South Africa.

India are in a very strong position on the points table and have a better chance of reaching the semi-finals than South Africa. However, there are some points of concern for the team. One of the first is the fielding, which cost them their previous match.

India also need to improve their batting. Smriti Mandhana has scored 159 runs, the highest for India in the tournament so far. However, apart from her, no one else has even completed a hundred runs.

Shafali Verma has chipped in with 92 runs in three matches. The contribution of the middle order has been very minimal. India could be keen to make some changes for their must-win encounter tonight.

Will Bharti Fulmali play against Bangladesh?

Bharti played only one match in the tournament so far, against Pakistan. She scored one run before getting stumped out. She had contributed to that game by taking a catch.

India replaced her with Yastika Bhatia from the next game. Yastika has scored 3 and 15 runs in the two matches, respectively. She batted at No. 5 and No. 3 in those two fixtures. India’s batting issues have created uncertainty regarding the players’ batting positions.

They have included Yastika in the team primarily for her stroke play in the powerplay, as she is not as effective after the first six overs.

On the other hand, India need strong finish and stability in the middle order. With lack of runs from Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur, the middle order looks fragile. Bharti’s inclusion will strengthen that facet of the team.

Bharti had a great run of form in the domestic season and WPL 2026, after which she made her comeback to the Indian T20I side. Her agile fielding, well-rounded game against spin and pace, and her powerful finishing will be key for India in the upcoming games, and Bharti could be included in the team tonight.

The game against Bangladesh is a must-win for the Women in Blue, as they need to keep their hopes alive in the tournament. If they lose tonight, they will effectively be out of the race for the semi-finals.
