India are set to lock horns with Bangladesh on June 25 in Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The Indian Women’s Cricket Team are contesting in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is underway in England. They have won two of their three games so far, and are ranked second in the Group A.
Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. started their Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign on a high note with a convincing 64-run win against Pakistan Women, and followed it up with a 95-runs victory against debutants Netherlands. However, their clash against South Africa resulted in a woeful defeat by 6 wickets.
So far in the championship, Smriti Mandhana’s bat has done the talking for India, having scored 159 runs in the three matches. Meanwhile the current No.1 ranked Women’s T20I bowler Sree Charani has picked the most wickets (10) in the season with a staggering average of 6.40.
As the Indian Women’s Cricket Team are on quest for their maiden T20 World Cup title, they are scheduled to meet Bangladesh on June 25 at the same venue as the previous match, Old Trafford, Manchester. This is a do-or-die game for the Women in Blue.
What will happen if India lose to Bangladesh tonight?

India have managed to garner only four points so far. Along with them, South Africa and Bangladesh too are on four points each with two games remaining for all three sides. However, India’s Net Run Rate is +2.511, which has helped them to stay in the Top 2 of the points table of Group A.
The IND-W vs BAN-W fixture is a do-or-die for India, as their win will keep them alive in the title bid, but the loss will most likely knock them out of contention. Let us understand the calculations behind this.
If India lose, Bangladesh will reach six points. South Africa play their fourth game tonight against Netherlands, and if they win, SA too will reach six points. India will play their last league game against Australia, and can reach six points maximum if they win against the kangaroos. Whereas, Bangladesh and South Africa will play their last league match against each other, and whoever wins that will reach 8 points and will be through to the semis.
However, there is a slight mathematical chance for India to stay in the race even after losing tonight. That is if South Africa lose their game against Netherlands. Then they can reach six points defeating Bangladesh in the next one. India will have to win by a huge margin against Australia to seal that spot.
The Women in Blue would not want to have such a faint hope of qualification, and will aim to win tonight against Bangladesh to stay afloat in the competition.
When is the next match for India in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026?
