Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will host Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match 63 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The fixture will mark CSK’s final home game of the season.
CSK have endured a difficult IPL 2026 campaign with injuries, inconsistent batting performances and frequent changes in combinations affecting results throughout the league stage. Although, they are alive in playoffs race, things look difficult for them.
SRH, meanwhile, have lot more chance than CSK to qualify for playoffs. If they beat CSK tonight, they along with Gujarat Titans (GT) will have ‘Q’ behind their name.
One of the biggest talking points ahead of the match remains the availability of MS Dhoni. The former India captain missed CSK’s matches because of fitness concerns, leading to speculation regarding his participation against SRH. The 44-year-old suffered a calf strain before the IPL 2026, which kept him out of the majority of the tournament.

There is a possibility that Dhoni could return to the CSK playing XI for Monday’s match against SRH.
Dhoni was seen attending CSK’s practice session ahead of the SRH clash and also spent time batting in the nets on Sunday. His participation in training has increased speculation regarding his return after missing all the matches of CSK so far this season.
CSK management has not officially confirmed Dhoni’s availability for the match, and the final decision is expected at the toss when both teams announce their playing XI.
The fixture has also attracted attention because it will be CSK’ final home game of IPL 2026. With continued uncertainty surrounding Dhoni’s IPL future, there is speculation that this could potentially be his last appearance at Chepauk if he decides not to continue next season.
Dhoni has not announced any retirement plans so far, and neither the franchise has issued any statement regarding his future beyond IPL 2026.
