Despite these positive signs, doubts remain. According to reports, Dhoni has not yet informed the team management about his availability. The decision will depend on how confident he feels about his fitness.
CSK batting coach Michael Hussey shared an important update. He confirmed that Dhoni is recovering well but is still working on his running between the wickets.
“Once he feels confident in his calf, I’m sure he’ll give the signal that he’s ready to go. At the moment, we’re guided by him. We’re waiting. I think all of Chennai is waiting,” he added further.
The main concern is his ability to run quickly during matches. His batting and wicketkeeping are not in doubt. Dhoni has also stayed away from match venues to avoid creating distractions for the team.
