Rohit Sharma had a decent outing with bat in ODIs against Afghanistan.

Rohit Sharma remains an important part of India‘s ODI setup despite having retired from T20 Internationals after the T20 World Cup 2024 and Test cricket in 2025. The veteran opener has continued to feature in the 50-over format and has been included in India’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England.

The 39-year-old has consistently maintained that his priority is ODI cricket. The former India captain has been a subject of speculations related to retirement for some months now because of his age, although there has been no official indication from either Rohit Sharma or the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The discussions about Rohit’s future have picked up pace as the ODI World Cup 2027 is around the corner. His role is still being discussed as young faces like Yashasvi Jaiswal have emerged as long-term options at the top of the order.
