Shoaib Bashir suffered an injury while attempting a catch on day three of the Lord’s test.
England Cricket Team and Indian Cricket Team are locking horns in third test of the five-match series at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. The hosts faced a big blow on day three of the match as their spinner Shoaib Bashir left the field due to an injury.
The right-arm off-spinner sustained an injury in his left finger while attempting a catch of Ravindra Jadeja. He looked in pain and immediately called the team physio. Later, he left the field, and Joe Root completed his over.
Bashir also did not return to bowl on day three. The 21-year-old picked the crucial wicket of KL Rahul, who slammed a century in the first innings. The batter’s century helped the team reach 387/10 in the first innings.

Prior to day four’s play, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) issued an update on Bashir’s injury. In an official statement, the ECB mentioned that Bashir is expected to bowl in the fourth innings.
“Following his left little finger injury, Shoaib Bashir continues to be monitored and is expected to bowl in the fourth innings of this Test. A decision on whether he will bat in the third innings will be made in due course. His involvement in the fourth Test at Emirates Old Trafford will be assessed at the end of the match,” ECB said in the statement.
Meanwhile, Indian bowlers made a fabulous comeback in the second innings. They bundled out England for 192 runs, setting themselves a target of 193 runs. Washington Sundar was the pick of the bowlers as he picked a four-wicket haul. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj also bagged two scalps each.
In the first innings, both England and India were bowled out for 387 runs. Earlier, the hosts won the toss and opted to bat first in the encounter.
