Vaibhav Sooryavanshi didn’t play first two IND vs AFG T20I at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The action in the ongoing series between Afghanistan and India shifts to the third encounter. This contest will be played on September 17 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

India recorded an easy win in the first two games courtesy of an all-round performance. They registred a dominating 7-wicket win in the opening match, and then followed it up another 7-wicket win.

In the first T20I, Abhishek Sharma led the chase with a 22-ball half-century. He scored 82 off 32 balls, with seven sixes and seven fours and a strike rate of 256.25. Ishan Kishan played a supporting role with a 33-ball 42 runs.

In the second T20I, Sanju Samson smahsed 57 off 22 balls and helped India chase down Afghanistan’s 160-run target in only 14.5 overs. With this victory, India took a 2-0 lead in the series.

With India taking a 2-0 lead in the series, captain Shreyas Iyer hinted that they will try different combinations in the last game, which will allow them to test their bench strength ahead of Asian Games 2026.

Will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi play 3rd IND vs AFG T20I?

The toss will take place at 7 PM IST on Tuesday, and the lineups will be decided. There are chances that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi might get an opportunity in the last game. The youngster has played six T20Is, scoring 193 runs at a strike rate of 189.21.

He scored two half-centuries and won the Player of the Series award in Zimbabwe. Though there is no official confirmation yet, but fans expect Sooryavanshi in the playing XI.

If he gets an opportunity, he would be keen to make it count and make his case strong for Asian Games 2026. If management decides to bring him in, one of Abhishek or Sanju will have to make way for him.
