Watch: Kane Williamson's excellent running catch to dismiss Rohit Sharma in 1st semi-final of CWC 2023

Rohit Sharma scored 47 off 29 deliveries before being caught by Kane Williamson.
Rohit Sharma gave India a blazing start as they faced off against New Zealand in the first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. This match is being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15, 2023.
In a repeat of the 2019 World Cup semi-final, where New Zealand and India faced off an amazing encounter, the two sides clashed once more in the knockout encounter, but this was in India’s backyard.
India captain Rohit Sharma started well as he won the toss and chose to bat first in Mumbai, which has been a batting paradise. Both India and New Zealand came into this game with unchanged playing XIs.
Rohit Sharma started off in his own style as he smacked Trent Boult for two fours and a six in the first two overs. On the other hand, Shubman Gill hammered two fours to Tim Southee. The Indian opening pair was led by Rohit and his brilliance.
Sharma then hit Southee for a six and a four, before hitting Boult for another six. At the end of 5 overs, India was 47/0. Mitchell Santner came in for some hammering with one six and one four. However, in the second last over of the powerplay, bowled by Tim Southee, Rohit got out trying to hit a straight six.

On the second ball of the 9th over, Tim Southee cleverly bowled a slower full ball to Rohit. Indian captain being in the flow, tried to hit a straight six, hit the ball straight up in the air towards long off. Kane Williamson ran back from mid-off, settled himself in, and took an excellent catch.
Rohit was dismissed for 47 in 29 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes.
