WPL 2025: List of all players released by each team

England’s Heather Knight and Issy Wong have been released ahead of the WPL 2025 auction.
The five Women’s Premier League (WPL) franchises have submitted their lists of retained and released players ahead of the WPL 2025 auction. The WPL 2025 auction is expected to take place in early December.
The WPL has quickly established itself as a premier franchise platform for female cricketers around the world, bringing top international talent and emerging domestic Indian players into the spotlight.
Ahead of the next season, franchises have released several high-profile players.
Among some major names that have been let go are Sneh Rana, Poonam Yadav, Lea Tahuhu, Heather Knight and Issy Wong.
Sneh Rana was the captain of Gujarat Giants in the inaugural season, yet now finds herself out of the squad. Wong, who is one of the fastest seamers in England, became the first player in WPL history to take a hat-trick, and had contributed to Mumbai Indians‘ title-winning journey in WPL 2023. Apart from Wong, MI have released Fatima Jaffer, Humaira Kazi and Priyanka Bala.
England women’s captain Heather Knight, who had pulled out of the WPL 2024 season due to international assignment, has now been released by defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru along with six other players. Knight’s replacement last season, South Africa all-rounder Nadine de Klerk, also has been let go.
Delhi Capital’s leg spinner Poonam Yadav, who was once a key member of the Indian team has been released by the runners-up of both the WPL seasons. DC have surprisingly also parted ways with Australian Laura Harris.
UP Warriorz have released four players, including England seamer Lauren Bell.
