WPL 2026 mega auction: List of all players released and retained by Mumbai Indians

The defending champions Mumbai Indians retained five players ahead of the WPL 2026 mega auction.
On Thursday, 6th November, all five franchises of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) revealed the list of retained and released players ahead of the fourth edition. Deepti Sharma, who recently won Player of the Tournament award at ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, wasn’t retained by her team. There were several big names that were not retained.
Notably, the WPL 2026 mega auction is scheduled for November 27 in Delhi, and every team had the option to retain a maximum of five players, which should include one uncapped player. The two-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) have gone with the strategy to retain a core group of players and will aim to get some of their players back at the mega auction.
Harmanpreet Kaur led Mumbai Indians to their second title in WPL 2025
MI couldn’t defend their title in the second edition, but they made sure that the 2025 title ended in their favour. They had a very good performance during the league stage, where they finished with the joint-most points on the table.
But because of a weaker NRR, they couldn’t make it to the final directly. However, they thrashed Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator by 47 runs to make it to the final, where they faced Delhi Capitals (DC). They had a tough fight in the final, where they could only manage 149 runs in the first innings.
But a spirited bowling performance helped them win the final by 8 runs to lift the trophy. Nat Sciver-Brunt (523) scored the most runs, and Amelia Kerr (18 wickets) took the most wickets for them.
