Gujarat Giants have struggled in last four seasons of WPL.
The Women Premier League (WPL) 2027 auction is now getting closer, with all five teams having completed their retention process. The franchises have made their decisions on which players will remain with their squads and which names will enter the auction pool.
The upcoming season will be the fifth edition of the WPL. The tournament will begin on January 14, 2027, and run until February 7.
The auction will give the teams another chance to make changes to their squads. The event is scheduled to take place on October 28 in Kochi, where the franchises will look to fill the gaps in their teams.
Gujarat Giants have made fewer changes compared to some of the other teams. The franchise has retained 15 players, the highest number among all five WPL teams, and released only four players.

Gujarat Giants have kept most of their squad together ahead of the WPL 2027 auction. Their retained group includes some of the biggest names in women’s cricket.
Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner and wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney will continue with the franchise. New Zealand all-rounder Sophie Devine and Australian spinner Georgia Wareham are also part of the retained overseas group.
The Indian players retained by Gujarat include Renuka Singh, Yastika Bhatia, Kashvee Gautam, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Tanuja Kanwer and Kanika Ahuja.

Gujarat have released four players ahead of the auction. The biggest name on the list is England batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge.
Ayushi Soni, Titas Sadhu and Shivani Singh are the other three players released by the franchise. All four will now be available in the auction pool.
