In just a short span of time, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) has become one of the best tournaments for women players. The amount of competition that has been there surely puts it on par with many other cricketing leagues.
The last four editions of the WPL have been staggering with Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) asserting their authority. Both the sides have won two titles each and would be keen to add a third title to their kitty.
Another team that has been consistent is Delhi Capitals (DC). They have made it into the finals record four times but have lacked luck. They would be keen to change their fortunes in 2027 and register their first title win.
UP Warrioz and Gujarat Giants have been having tough times in the past four seasons. However, the upcoming season will provide them with a great opportunity to turn the tables and put their case forward for the WPL title.

Although WPL 2027 season is still far away, the preparations for that has already begun. Teams will be looking to add some fire power to their squad in the auction and also release some underperformers.
The fifth season of the WPL will begin on January 14, as per the latest revelations of the BCCI. The tournament is scheduled to run until February 7, 2027. The BCCI has confirmed this window, although the complete match-by-match fixture list has not yet been released.
The WPL 2027 player auction will take place on October 28, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi. Before that, franchises have submitted their retention and release list.
