IPL 2026: Yash Dayal & RCB in HUGE trouble! Jaipur POCSO court rejected bail plea in alleged rape case

Yash Dayal played a key role in RCB’s title victory last season.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) left-arm pacer Yash Dayal is facing the heat after a Jaipur court under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) rejected his anticipatory bail plea. Yash has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor and faces the risk of being arrested.
On June 21, a woman claimed that Dayal cheated her while they were in a relationship, which lasted for five years. The same lady went on to accuse the 27-year-old of sexual assault and filed an FIR.
Another fresh set of allegations was launched against the RCB pacer by a 17-year-old girl. She has accused Dayal of sexually abusing her when she was a minor, for a period of two years, including emotional blackmail, with the promise of helping her become a cricketer.
Dayal’s lawyer and team have categorically rejected these allegations, saying that they aim to tarnish the cricketer’s reputation and ruin his career.
Court’s verdict

So far, an FIR has been filed against Yash at Indirapuram police station, under Section 69, which punishes sexual intercourse induced by false promises (like marriage or employment). Dayal’s side has assured co-operation, but argued that he has cricketing obligations as well.
Rachna Maan, the government lawyer, noted that the accused established physical relations with the minor victim several times, with the promise of building a cricket career. She remarked that even if the minor gave her consent, she was underage, and as per the law, it is illegal. Hence, the bail was denied.
What does this mean for RCB?
The management was criticised for retaining Dayal for IPL 2026. The news regarding allegations against Dayal was out way back in June, and the management could have avoided the controversy by releasing the left-arm pacer.
Notably, the franchise was already facing heavy backlash then, following the victory parade, which led to loss of life at the Chidambaram Stadium.
Yash plays an important role in RCB’s lineup, but the allegations against him are serious and have cast a shadow over his career. The UP T20 League has already imposed a ban, while the IPL is yet to take any action.
With his plea reportedly rejected, it remains to be seen whether further legal steps, including arrest, will follow. This latest development places both his IPL prospects and long-term cricketing future firmly in jeopardy.
Why was an FIR filed against Yash Dayal?
Dayal was accused of sexual assault by a woman, and hence an FIR was filed against him.
When was Yash Dayal last seen in action?
Yash was last seen in action during the IPL 2025.
