Yashasvi Jaiswal enters top 5, Kuldeep Yadav makes massive strides in latest ICC test rankings

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 219 runs in the recently-concluded test series against the West Indies at home.
India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has stormed back into the top five in the latest ICC test rankings for batters, while ace spinner Kuldeep Yadav has jumped seven places after player of the match performance in the Delhi test. India defeated the West Indies 2-0 in the recent home test series, in which Indian players shone throughout.
Jaiswal was one of the stars, scoring 219 runs in two tests at an average of 73 and a best score of 175 that came in the Delhi test. Thanks to this performance, the southpaw has jumped two places to fifth, surpassing Temba Bavuma and Kamindu Mendis, and is boasting of 791 rating points.
KL Rahul, the second-highest run-scorer, moved two places in the new rankings, finishing 33rd after scoring 196 runs in the just-concluded test series. Joe Root continues to be at the top spot with 908 rating points, despite not playing any test matches since August.
Kuldeep Yadav gains career-best rating points

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav has risen seven places following his player-of-the-match performance in the Delhi test, where he claimed eight wickets. He is ranked 14th in the current bowling rankings, with a career high of 689 points.
Interestingly, Jasprit Bumrah has lost three rating points yet remains at the top of the rankings in the game’s longest format, with 882 points. He is the only Indian in the top ten, with Mohammed Siraj rated 12.
Both John Campbell and Shai Hope of the West Indies, who both scored hundreds while pursuing in Delhi, have advanced significantly. Campbell moved up from 74th to 68th, and Hope rose from 100th to joint 66th. Justin Greaves, who also scored a half-century, is currently tied for 71st place with Mitchell Marsh after gaining five spots.
