T20I cricket is often considered the most entertaining format. This format consumes less time and offers thrilling contests in the final overs. The T20I format is also considered a major avenue for any cricketer to make their debut for the national team.

Many players who perform well in their country’s domestic franchise T20 league often get the opportunity to make their T20I debut. Over the years, many youngsters have made their debut at a very young age. Some of these cricketers were so young at the time of their T20I debut that they became a topic of discussion in the cricketing world.

10. Tenjin Rabgey: 15y 92d – Bhutan

Bhutan player Tenjin Rabgey gets the 10th spot on this list. The right-handed batsman made his debut in T20Is at the age of 15 years and 92 days. His first game was against the Maldives on July 4, 2022, at Bangi.

He could not make a mark with the bat, getting out for just four runs as an opener. Bhutan won the encounter by six runs as Tenjin scripted history by becoming the youngest batter ever to play for the Asian team in the shortest format.

9. Suhail Vayani: 15y 89d – Malawi

Suhail Vayani is a right-arm off-spinner from Malawi, who has featured in 47 T20Is so far. He made his T20I debut in May 2023 in an encounter against Eswatini in the Southern Africa Cup.

The encounter took place on May 27 at Willowmoore Park, Benoni. Vayani was 15 years and 89 days old at the time of the clash. Bowling 4 overs, he clinched two wickets at an economy of 5.75.

8. Alusine Turay: 15y 74d – Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone is an African country and an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Their all-rounder Alusine Turay gets the eighth spot on this list. Turay made his T20I debut in December 2022 in a clash against Cameron at Kigali City at the age of 15 years and 74 days.

In the encounter, which was part of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Regional Africa Qualifier, Turay grabbed the spotlight by winning Player of the Match. He clinched two crucial wickets in the first innings and added 33 runs as an opener, as Sierra Leone won by just one wicket in a close-fought game.

7. Aleksa Lazic: 15y 73d – Serbia

Serbian cricketer Aleksa Lazic is another young player in this list who made his debut in the shortest format at a very young age. The right-handed batsman has only played six T20Is so far. He played his first international match for Serbia against Slovenia at Belgrade on June 7, 2025.

At the time of the game, Lazic was just 15 years and 73 days old. Serbia won the first match of the bilateral series by three runs. Later, they also registered a clean sweep 3-0.

6. Raymond Coker: 15y 73d – Sierra Leone

Raymond Coker is an experienced bowling all-rounder from Sierra Leone. In a clash against Tanzania in Rwanda on December 1, 2022, he became the second-youngest player to play for his national team.

He was 15 years and 73 days old at the time of the clash. His team lost the clash after a big batting collapse in the encounter, in which Coker scored one run and remained wicketless.

5. Oscar Duff: 15y 64d – Bulgaria

Oscar Duff is a right-arm medium pacer from Bulgaria and has represented the team in fewer than 10 T20Is. Two years ago, in August 2024, he played his first T20I game against Guernsey, when he was just 15 years and 64 days old.

In the encounter, which took place at Guernsey Rovers Athletic Club Ground in Port Soif, Duff suffered an unlucky run-out in the 1st innings. He impressed with his bowling, clinching two wickets at an economy of 10.20.

4. George Sesay: 14y 311d – Sierra Leone

Another Sierra Leone cricketer is part of the list of the top 10 youngest players to make their T20I debut. George Sesay is a right-arm pacer who made his debut at the age of just 14 years and 311 days.

In his first-ever T20I game against Nigeria on October 19, 2021, he did get a chance to bowl or bat. His team defeated Nigeria by six wickets. Notably, this was Sierra Leone’s first T20I match, and the entire team made their international debut. Sese was the youngest player among them.

3. Meet Bhavsar: 14y 211d – Kuwait

Meet Bhavsar, who plays for Kuwait, captures the third spot on this list. The wicket-keeper batsman made his T20I debut at the age of 14 years and 211 days, in a game against the Maldives in the ACC Western Region T20 tournament.

Bhavsar, who bats in the middle order, did not get a chance to bat as Kuwait chased down a 103-run target like a walk in the park by 8 wickets. Bhavsar bagged a run-out in the encounter to grab the limelight with his fabulous job behind the stumps.

2. Alkinoos Manatos: 14y 207d – Greece

Although Greece are not a very well-known country in the world of cricket, one of their players is famous for being the second-youngest player ever to make a T20I debut.

Alkinoos Manatos owns the record for playing his first T20I at the age of 14 years and 207 days. Manatos achieved the record in June 2021 in a clash against Serbia. The wicket-keeper batsman did not get a chance to bat in the clash, which is his only game so far.

1. Marian Gherasim: 14y 16d – Romania

Marian Gherasim, a cricketer from Romania, steals the top spot on this list. The right-arm pacer has played 12 T20Is for Romania so far, after making his debut in October 2020 against Bulgaria in the Balkan Cup 2020.

Making his T20I debut at the age of just 14 years and 16 days old, Marian scripted record books to become the youngest cricketer ever to play T20I cricket. Romania lost the game by 33 runs, but Marian registered his name in the history books.
