Rohit Sharma and Co. have got off to a flying start, winning back-to-back matches in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup.

Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has backed Rohit Sharma to lift the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Yuvraj, who was instrumental in India winning the 2011 World Cup at home, is confident of the current Indian squad doing well.

Rohit found his touch after a disappointing show against Australia in India's tournament opener. The opener hit a majestic hundred in the next game against Afghanistan, breaking numerous records on the way. It was Rohit's seventh hundred in the history of the World Cup. He went past batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who now sits at the second spot with six hundreds.

Rohit has broken many records: Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj believes Rohit will break many records and heaped praises at him, calling him one of the greats of the game. Rohit also broke the record for most sixes in international cricket, going past Chris Gayle.

"Rohit Sharma has broken many big records, I think he has so much capability that he can break any record. He is definitely one of the greats of the game. He has scored 31 ODI hundreds which is a big achievement. He is still not done yet and hopefully, he will win India a World Cup as captain. He played the role of an opener in the second stage. Before he used to play in the middle order," Yuvraj exclusively told ANI.

India will next take on Pakistan on October 14 in Ahmedabad. The men in blue will look to make it three wins out of as many games in the ongoing World Cup. Pakistan, on the other hand, will go into the big-ticket match against the hosts on the back of a record-breaking run-chase against Sri Lanka.
