Yuvraj Singh made his India debut in 2000 at the age of 18 and played his final match in 2017.

Yuvraj Singh’s old video of talking about his father Yograj Singh’s apparent mental issues has gone viral, after the former India pacer had taken potshots at MS Dhoni, accusing him of ruining his son’s cricket career.

Yograj’s comments emphasize a long-standing issue, claiming that Dhoni’s influence hampered Yuvraj’s career, despite his significant contributions to Indian cricket, particularly in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup under Dhoni’s leadership.

In a recent interview on the Zee Switch YouTube channel, Yograj expressed his deep animosity against Dhoni.

He said: “I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son can never be forgiven in life. I have never forgiven anyone who has wronged me, and I never will, even if they are family. That man (MS Dhoni) destroyed my son’s career, which could have lasted four to five more years.”

Yuvraj Singh made his India debut in 2000 at the age of 18 and went on to become an all-time great for India in white-ball cricket. His test career was limited to 40 matches due to the presence of greats like VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, and Sachin Tendulkar in the Indian middle-order.

Yuvraj made 1900 runs in 40 tests with 3 centuries, 8701 runs in 304 ODIs with 14 centuries, and 1177 runs in 58 T20Is for India. He also picked up 111 ODI and 28 T20I wickets with his left-arm spin.

“I think my father has mental issues”- Yuvraj Singh

Not only did Yuvraj Singh have an excellent cricket career, but also he achieved two World Cup wins and played huge roles in both wins for India. He was the Player of the Tournament in India’s 2011 World Cup win with 362 runs at an average of 90.50 and one century and 15 wickets with the ball.

However, his appearances for the national team declined after 2014, with his final international encounter coming in 2017 against the West Indies. Yograj credited this reduction to Dhoni’s influence over squad selection decisions.

Amidst all of this, India’s 2011 World Cup star Yuvraj’s old video from a podcast has gone viral, where he voiced concern about his father’s different utterances, claiming that he has “mental health issues” and refuses to accept them.

Yuvraj made these remarks during a podcast, expressing his displeasure at his father’s repeated charges.

“I think my father has mental issues and he just doesn’t want to accept it,” Yuvraj had said in a podcast.
