Stands named after Yuvraj Singh and Harmanpreet Kaur were unveiled at New Chandigarh Stadium ahead of the second IND vs SA T20I.

The second T20I between Indian Cricket Team and South Africa Cricket Team got underway on Thursday, December 11, at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh. Ahead of the encounter, former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and India Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur were honoured with stands named after them at the stadium.

The stands were unveiled by the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) in an official ceremony. Yuvraj is considered among the best all-rounders to represent India and is a two-time World Cup champion. He played a crucial role in driving the Men in Blue to victory in ICC T20 World Cup 2007 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, where he was the Player of the Tournament.

Last month, Kaur became the first India Women’s captain to lead the team to an ICC title, winning the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. outplayed South Africa Women in the final to script history. During the ceremony, PCA also presented the already announced cash rewards to Punjab players Kaur and Amanjot Kaur.
