Yuvraj Singh has never coached any team in the Indian Premier League.
Yuvraj Singh is undoubtedly the best all-rounder to have ever played for India. The former cricketer also played a crucial role in India’s title-winning campaigns in the T20 World Cup 2007 and ODI World Cup 2011 under MS Dhoni’s captaincy.
Yuvraj was also a prominent figure in IPL during his active career. He commenced his journey as a member of Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the inaugural edition in 2008. Like the national side, he was a crucial member of the PBKS squad in his initial seasons, adding value with both bat and bowl.
Left-handed batsman and left-arm spinner Yuvraj played 132 games in the IPL before retiring in 2019. With 2750 runs at an average of 24.77 and 36 wickets at an economy of 7.44, he made a significant impact with his performance in his IPL career.
After retirement, Yuvraj mentored some emerging players. He has worked closely with players such as Abhishek Sharma, Prabhsimran Singh, Priyansh Arya and many more.
His association with Abhishek is well-known, and after the latter cemented his spot as an opener in India’s T20I team, Yuvraj’s coaching skills received considerable praise.
Although Yuvraj has no coaching experience with any team so far, he is highly likely to start his stint as a support staff member in IPL 2027.
Yuvraj Singh to be picked as support staff member by Delhi Capitals in IPL 2027- Reports

According to a Times of India report, Delhi Capitals (DC) are looking to induct Yuvraj as a member of the support staff in IPL 2027.
The report added that Sourav Ganguly, who is expected to lead the franchise’s support staff setup next season after JSW Group returns to control operations for the next two years, wants his former Indian teammate as a support staff member in IPL 2027.
Although there has been no official announcement from the franchise on this yet, a DC official informed TOI about the development.
“Who wouldn’t want a Yuvraj Singh in the dugout? Many of his former teammates, including Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan and Virender Sehwag, have had coaching stints in the IPL. Yuvraj may be a little late to the party, but he has spent considerable time working with youngsters and understanding the demands of the role,” a DC source was quoted as saying by TOI.
“He doesn’t just train players; he mentors them. It’s not limited to phone calls or virtual sessions. He spends hours on the ground, often standing behind the nets and working under the sun alongside his players. It’s a genuinely hands-on approach that has benefited numerous cricketers,” the source further added.
Notably, Yuvraj has worked as a commentator in the IPL in the past but has never been a coach of any team. In recent years, he has actively participated in franchise T20 leagues for retired cricketers.
Meanwhile, Delhi are also expected to bring back their former captain Rishabh Pant in IPL 2027. According to reports, DC can pick Pant through a trade deal with LSG.
The left-handed batsman captained LSG for the last two seasons; however, he struggled with his leadership and performance. After LSG’s dismal show in IPL 2026, he stepped down as the captain.
