Yuzvendra Chahal has played a major role in taking PBKS to the IPL 2025 playoffs.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) has received a massive boost ahead of the playoffs of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. As per the PTI report, it is learned that Yuzvendra Chahal is all set to recover before the knockout stage of the tournament.

Ahead of the game against Delhi Capitals (DC), Punjab Kings faced a massive blow as lead spinner Yuzvendra Chahal got injured. The leg-spinner faced a finger injury and missed the game against the Axar Patel-led side, which raised a lot of speculations about his future in the league, especially with the playoffs around the corner.

Even Punjab Kings bowling coach Sunil Joshi confirmed that Yuzvendra Chahal has a slight niggle and they are giving him rest ahead of the playoffs. Although he didn’t mention the seriousness of the injury, it was speculated that the leg-spinner might miss a few games in the playoffs.

Yuzvendra Chahal is likely to miss the game against Mumbai Indians

But, the latest report in PTI has rubbished all the rumours. It is learned that Chahal is recovering fast from the finger injury and will be available for the playoffs. However, this means that he could miss a crucial encounter against the Mumbai Indians, which will be PBKS’ last league match in IPL 2025.

Punjab Kings will face Mumbai Indians on Monday (26th May). This match will be played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur and the winner of the clash will seal a place in the top two and will play Qualifier 1.

If Chahal misses the clash against the Mumbai Indians, it will be a massive blow for the Punjab Kings. The leg-spinner has played a major role in the franchise reaching the playoffs, and his absence was quite evident when he missed the last game against the Delhi Capitals.

Punjab Kings went on to lose that clash and had they won that, they would’ve surely bagged a place in the top two of the points table. Yuzvendra Chahal started the tournament in a shaky way, but it didn’t take him long to get back to his best and pick crucial wickets for his team in important games.

Yuzvendra Chahal has played 12 games in the IPL and has picked 14 wickets so far. He also bagged a hat-trick in the clash against Chennai Super Kings, but his best performance came against Kolkata Knight Riders when he picked up 4 wickets while defending a modest total of 111 runs.
